Today, we have a special post for you from Garry Stewart, your local it’seeze consultant, to mark the 10th anniversary of our York branch…
It’s hard to believe that it’s been ten years since it’seeze York began. During this time, we’ve launched hundreds of beautiful, responsive and successful websites for clients in virtually every industry – e-commerce, beauty, accountancy, construction, automotive, travel – and more. Our 10-year target was to create 500 websites, and we’re well on the way to achieving this goal.

When I took the plunge into self-employment and created it’seeze York, I had one goal – to go from zero clients and just one prospect on day one to building a successful business with a large, loyal customer base. And that’s what it’seeze York has become. Proving to myself that I could do this has been, and still is, my proudest business achievement.

A close second is knowing I’ve helped local businesses become more successful by transforming their online presence. I’ve had so much positive feedback over the years from clients who love their websites and have seen their livelihoods improve – it’s gratifying to make this sort of impact.

I’m also thrilled that it’seeze York has won an internal award for customer retention (out of all the it’seeze franchises). Also that we’ve been recognised year after year as one of the top three web designers in the York area by Three Best Rated. This accolade has helped me win business, as have our 5-star reviews on Trustpilot – these word-of-mouth recommendations matter the most to me.

I’m excited to see what the future holds over the next five years as the digital landscape changes and new technologies emerge. I think the business will continue to grow at a manageable pace, allowing existing customers the high standard of service they’ve come to expect.

I also believe there will be many opportunities to integrate emerging technologies, such as AI, which will help win new business. I can’t be sure where AI will take the web design industry, but it’s clear that those businesses prepared to experiment and keep their finger on the pulse of AI trends will gain a competitive advantage. As a national organisation, it’seeze is ideally positioned to integrate AI for the benefit of our clients, as well as our internal processes and procedures. But no matter how technologically advanced our service becomes, we’ll never lose that face-to-face interaction with customers. That’s one of our USPs: offering local, in-person consulting and support.

Final thoughts

All the reasons for taking that leap of faith ten years ago to develop the York franchise have been fulfilled. I’ve spent quality time with my children as they’ve grown, and I’ve enjoyed the flexibility of working for myself and structuring my day according to my business priorities. I haven’t had to sit in pointless meetings for hours on end or work to line someone else’s pockets!

Building a successful business has been immensely rewarding. And I’m grateful to have had an incredible team around me who’ve helped me along the way – family, colleagues, suppliers and, of course, my clients.
